Accurate Tactile feedback is becoming important in many types of systems that were once guided via mechanical linkages in direct contact with the human hand.   Our hands have a complex sensor system that allows us to sense quickly between coarse and fine movement and make decisions based on this input.

Haptic or Tactile feedback is used to convey information to the pilot.   This system mimics what was once done via steel cable, mechanical linkages, or hydraulic systems.
